B.COM (H) FROM SCIENCE STREAM
Category Eligibility Criteria For Form Fill Up Additional Criteria
General Minimum 60% aggregate AND 60% in Mathematics Must have passed in English
SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, OBC-A & OBC-B communities should obtain a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate OR 40% marks in the subject or related subjects. SC,  ST & OBC communities recognised by Govt. of West Bengal are only eligible for the exemption mentioned above . Must have passed in English

Events & Workshops

  • Career Counselling Workshop on Lateral Thinking, Better Concentration Power and Personality Development was organized by Apex Counsellors, Kolkata, for 1st year and 3rd year students in the Department of Commerce on 10.08.15 and 28.08.15 The workshop was conducted by Mr. Akash Deora and Mr. Mohit Damani, Counsellors of Apex.
  •  Seminars were organized by Institute of Technology and Management for students of Department of B.B.A and Commerce on 21.08.15. Mr. Sharad Kumar Jha Head, Institute of Technology and Management, Navi Mumbai spoke on topics ‘MBA as a career option’ and ‘Finance as career option’ respectively
  • An International Seminar on “Emerging Issues in Financial Markets” was organized by Department of Commerce, Shri Shikshayatan College in Collaboration with Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta on 11th September 2015 in the Campus Auditorium. The inaugural session was presided by Shri G.K. Khaitan, President, Shri. R.K. Misra, Secretary, Shri P.K. Sharma, Joint-Secretary, H.E. Chandra Kumar Ghimire, Hon’ble Consulate General of Nepal, as Guest of Honour and Prof. Rajib Dasgupta, Head of Department – Commerce, University of Calcutta, as a Special Guest. Dr. Aditi Dey, Principal, delivered the welcome address. The Seminar was conducted in two Plenary Sessions and a Technical Session (Research Paper Presentations). The other distinguished guests present for the session were a representative of Consulate General of France, Prof. Ratan Khasnobis, Honorary Director, MHROM Programme, Department of Business Management, University of Calcutta, as a Chairperson(Plenary Session I), Dr. Jayanta Kumar Seal, Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade as a Key note Speaker, Professor P.K. Haldar, Head of the Department of Commerce, Tripura University, as a Chairperson (Plenary Session II), Dr. Shafali Nagpal, Director, UGC–Academic Staff College, BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Sonepat – Haryana as a Key note Speaker and Shri Malhar Majumdar, Partner and Consultant, Positive Vibes, Consultancy Services as a Speaker. The Technical Session was chaired by Professor Dhruba Ranjan Dandapat, Chairman, Undergraduate Board of Studies, University of Calcutta, Dr. Ram Prahalad Chaudhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta, and Prof. Dipti Kumar Chakraborty, Convenor M.Phil Committee, Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta.
  • Chandra Paul Memorial Lecture was organized by Department of Commerce on 15.09.15. Dr. Tanupa Chakraborty, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta, delivered a lecture on ‘An introspection into Schedule III of Companies Act 2013’. It was followed by a debate on ‘Women Empowerment is enhanced by Self Help Groups’ in which the students actively participated.
  • A workshop on ‘Financial Education’ was organized by Department of Commerce, Shri Shikshayatan College in collaboration with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) which was held on 29.9.15. The session was conducted by Ram Prahlad Choudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, University of Calcutta and a certified financial education trainer of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
