DEPARTMENTAL HIGHLIGHTS

Post Graduate Department of Commerce, offers specialisations in Accounting & Finance and in Marketing.

The department aims at facilitating the students in the development of competency in research in various emerging fields of commerce. Every year the department also arranges Workshop-cum-Certificate Course in Research Methodology and Applicationof SPSS- A widely used Statistical Tool for research work.

The department focuses on cutting edge teaching and uses case studies, simulations as well as experiential learning. Special lecture series are also arranged for the students on a regular basis on various contemporary issues.

The department also publishes a peer reviewed Edited Volume with ISBN number – FAME – highlighting contemporary issues on FINANCE, ACCOUNTING, MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS since 2016. The journal invites research-based papers from in-house as well as from other college teachers and students. The department has issued four Volumes so far.

The department has taken initiative to motivate the students for appearance at UGC-NET examination. So far six students have qualified NET examination and are teaching in different educational institutions.

The students have got placed in reputed organisations like PWC, Deloitte, Wipro, Investment Banking, banks and other industrial sectors. Some students also opt for Teaching professions.

The department also organises Seminars, Webinars, FDPs and Industry visit to enrichstudents as well as faculty.

Two students are pursuing Ph.D. and three students have completed M.Phil.

Many students have completed professional courses like CA, CS, CMA and are placed in good positions.

Students have also got placed in reputed organisations like PWC, Deloitte, Wipro, investment banking, banks and other business sectors.

A few students are also pursuing higher studies in Canada, USA.

One student has become a successful entrepreneur.
