“In the early nineteen seventies when students’ political activism was rampant throughout West Bengal and elsewhere, we enjoyed a blissful seclusion unheard of in other undergraduate colleges. Thus the three years passed in a disciplined routine of regular classes, tests and uninterrupted exams. This perhaps helped to focus and build on priorities which I have carried forward till this day.”
