BAISHE SHRABON : RABINDRA SMARAN
Rabindranath Thakur, a poet, philosopher, playwright, novelist, painter and composer as well as an ardent patriot and social Reformer took his last breath on 22’se Shrabon, 1348 (7th August, 1941). The world marks this day as the death anniversary of Asia’s first Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Thakur.
The Department of Bengali, Shri Shikshayatan College observes this day as ” Baishe Shrabon : Rabindra Smaran ” since 2008, to pay homage to Biswakabi Rabindranath. The department arranges a Seminar with Eminent Rabindra experts. Such as Rabindra Sangeet Singer Shri Srikanto Acharya, Shri Monoj Murali Nayar, Professor Abdul Kafi (Prof. Department of Bengali,Jadavpur University), Professor Dr Abhra Basu (Head, Department of Bengali, Biswa Bharati University) , Professor Dr. Shraboni Pal, (Prof. Department of Bengali, Rabindra Bharati University).
The program starts with the Welcome Speech by our Principal. The Guest Speakers speak on different aspects of Rabindranath Thakur. With all our respect and emotions we observe this day.
2017 – “Baishe Shrabon : Rabindra Smaran” was observed on 29/08/2017. Eminent Rabindra Sangeet Singer Shri Monoj Murali Nayar was the Guest Speaker.
2018 – “Baishe Shrabon : Rabindra Smaran” was observed on 13/8/18. Eminent Singer Shri Srikanto Acharya was the Guest of Honor.
2019 – “Baishe Shrabon: Rabindra Smaran” was observed on 9/8/19. Our Guest Speaker Abdul Kafi, Professor, Department of Bengali, Jadavpur University delivered a Lecture on “Rabindranath ebong Kabir.”
2020 – ”Baishe Shrabon : Rabindra Smaran” was observed on 07/09/20 on virtual medium. Professor Abhra Basu, Head, Department of Bengali, Biswa Bharati University delivered a Lecture on “Rabindranather Pujar Gaan”.
2021 – “Baishe Shrabon : Rabindra Smaran” was observed on 21/09/21. Dr Shraboni Pal, Professor, Department of Bengali, Rabindra Bharati University was the Guest of Honor. The title of her speech was “Rabindranather Deshbhabna : Prosongo Polli Punorgathon”
