ABOUT US

Shri Shikshayatan College was founded on 8th July, 1955 for girls under affiliation to the University of
Calcutta. Established by the Marwaris, a linguistic minority community, it is administered and managed
by Shikshayatan Foundation (formerly Marwari Balika Vidyalaya Society, established in 1920) registered
under the Societies Registration Act which runs it solely for educational purposes. As a linguistic minority
institution, the college enjoys protection under Article 30(1) of the Constitution of India. The medium of
instruction is English. The College has been accredited four times by NAAC between 2003 and 2023
with grades B+, A, A and B++ respectively.
